Silence. There was not a sound. Not even the tiniest, not even the quietest. She tried to focus, tried to listen to her own heart. But it seemed like the walls absorbed every noise, even her own breath. She was trapped there, ever since she remembered, but for no longer. Nothing they could do would stop her from achieving her first and only goal: freedom. If they only understood she wouldn't ever hurt anyone, but they couldn't. Humans tend to be afraid of everything they don't understand, everything they can't control. Even so, they thought she could be dangerous, that someone could control her power, use it against their establishment. And that's why she was prisoner there, alone, in silence. She had tried to escape before and failed, and she knew they wouldn't be gentle with her if she did it again. Nevertheless, the decision was made. They had never been gentle with her anyway.
This was the time. Careless of the cameras or the security, she focused her mind to one of those awful white walls. Nothing happened at first, but she focused even more, closed her eyes, started feeling the anger, the pain, the loneliness, she started to hear the silence... and then the walls began breaking, first slowly, then brutally, until a great explosion destroyed what was left of them, revealing the entrance to a big corridor, with grey lines on the floor at regular gaps, making it look eternal, line after line heading directly to the vanishing point. There was no time left, no time to hesitate. She started running, knowing that no matter where she was heading, it would be better that where she was, that her effort was worthwhile. She had nothing to lose, she never had.
And then their response came. The little white machines that were always watching, this time started shooting. She kept on running anyway, trying to protect herself from the red lasers, creating a psychic shield for her own safety, where lasers ricocheted destroying the walls and the shooting machines. Finally she got into a big, dark room. At the moment she entered, big flashes lightened up the area, discovering four enormous mirrors covering every wall. And without leaving her any time to react, a big door closed the entrance to the corridor, trapping her again.
This was unbearable, she wouldn't allow this, not this time, she had to escape at any cost. She closed her eyes, and broke the silence by screaming, screaming out loud, like never before. She felt her power running fast through her veins, and with all her anger, started punching the mirror walls with all her strength, until she fell...
...Into the mirror. When she opened her eyes, was surrounded by hundred, thousands images of herself in an infinite silver space.

...

Silence. There was not a sound. Silence was still there, impassive. But at least, she would never again...
